US stocks ended lower yesterday on renewed earnings jitters, particularly for the technology

companies with interests in Asia.

The Dow Jones industrial average gave up 87.44 points at 8803.80.

In the broad market, declining issues led advancers by a small margin on moderate volume of 580 million shares on the New York Stock Exchange.

The technology-laced Nasdaq composite index fell 19.77 points to 1742.02 after a Wall Street brokerage house revised downward its earnings forecast for Intel.

On Monday, the Nasdaq plunged 32 points on jitters about weak Asian economies taking their toll on the earnings of American technology companies.
