TITLE-holders Linlithgowshire continued their recent run of good form as they moved into a two-point lead at the top of the East section in the Counties Bowls Championship, crushing Midlothian 154-96 at Uphall Station.

For the second successive week, Linlithgowshire finished ahead on five of the six rinks, with only Ronnie Erskine losing, 23-21 to internationalist Willie Galloway.

The Logan brothers, Eric and Raymond, both recorded wins, with Eric beating Willie Rankin 27-9 while Raymond added a 23-14 win over Colin Walker.

George Sneddon beat David Peacock 26-18, John Aitken beat Willie Peacock 25-17, and Grant Knox coasted to a 32-15 victory over Doug Walkingshaw.

Highland took over top spot in the North section, beating Northern Counties 134-110 at Hopeman, while the previous leaders, Buchan, lost out by 124-113 to Perthshire at Ellon.

Perthshire join Highland on the eight-point mark but had to settle for second place with a shot aggregate of plus 40 against Highland's plus 54.

Lanarkshire South stretched their winning run in the South section to five, remaining the only unbeaten side in the championship after a comprehensive 132-95 win over Dunbartonshire East at Shotts, with victories for Ian Campbell, Stuart Simpson, George Prosser, and Jim Conway.

Lanarkshire West moved into top spot in the West section on shots aggregate ahead of Argyll & Bute, Renfrewshire West, and Dunbartonshire West after beating Clacikmannan and Kinross 115-88 at Tillicoultry. Details:
