SCOTTISH Homes yesterday announced details of its three-year plan for Lothian, Borders and Forth Valley. It is spending #105m, and expects to attract the same amount from the private sector, to build or renovate 4500 homes. Much of the money will be targeted at deprived areas such as Craigmillar, Wester Hailes and Muirhouse in Edinburgh, and in West Lothian at Kirkhill in Broxburn, Boghall in Bathgate, and Polbeth. Raploch in Stirling and Langlees in Falkirk will be priorities in Forth Valley, as will older neighbourhoods and town centres in East Lothian, and meeting demand for an ageing population in the Borders.
