Island promise
THE Stirling-based family company, Ogilvie Homes, has just opened a show flat at its new Arranview Court development in Irvine, which has unobstructed views over Victoria Park and the River Irvine, and Arran is visible in the distance. Within easy reach of the shops, prices at this one and two-bed flatted development range from #42,950 to #59, 950 for the penthouse with the walk-out balcony.
Ogilvie's Forth Park, Stirling, development is almost complete with remaining properties, some including a carpet incentive or #1000 cashback, priced from #79,995 for a three-bedroom detached villa, to #105,950 for a four-bedroom detached villa.
At Queens Court, in Larbert, four flats remain on the market at this site alongside the Tryst golf course. Prices range from #54,750 for two and three-bedroom flats.
No hedging
Beazer has opened a new show home at the Hawthorn Grove development in Cambuslang, where prices start at around #50,000. It's the three-bedroom detached Culzean with built-in wine rack in the kitchen, floor to ceiling storage in the utility room, downstairs wcand an ensuite shower room, especially useful during the family early morning rush-hour.
Meanwhile at Beazer's other Cambuslang site, Hunterfield, there are six four-bedroom villas with prices starting at #119,995. Three properties remain at the company's Rankin Rise development in Greenock, on the former site of the Rankin Maternity Hospital. They are all three-bedroom semi-detached houses with integral garage, priced at #66,295.
In Glasgow, at Beazer's Knightswood Gate development in Garscadden, the Kenmore show home has been released for sale at #89,500. That includes curtains and carpets, and a special ''plant for wildlife'' garden, which recently won a top Scottish Natural Heritage award.
Doing their homework
Cala Homes Lincoln Mews townhouse development in Bridge of Allan has proved irresistible to two members of staff. Development director John Murphy is moving in from elsewhere in the town, while commercial controller Dave Fisher is moving up from Lochwinnoch. The three and four-bedroom townhouses are built on three floors with an integral garage, bedroom/family room, utility room and cloakroom on the ground floor, kitchen and reception rooms on the first, and two or three bedrooms, an ensuite and full bathroom on the second floor. Prices start at #123,000.
In Dunblane, Cala has opened a showhouse at Rowangrove, a development of detached bungalows and split-level houses. Prices start at #175,000 for the bungalows and #185,000 for the split-levels.
Arch angels
Archway, a company previously known for its villas and detached properties, is having great success with its new College Gate development of 27 flats in Bearsden, next to St Andrew's College. A fixed price of #78,950 for two bedrooms, an ensuite, French doors in the lounge/dining room and a fitted kitchen with appliances - plus private parking bay - is proving attractive to young professionals who like the area but can't afford the sometimes sky-high ''offers over'' prices that second-hand properties in Bearsden can attract.
Food and shelter
Delicious food was on offer at Wimpey Homes during the recent launch of three of their latest developments. There were strawberry cream teas at Hayward Park, by Carluke, where the opening of a show home heralded the start of a site for 45, two and three-bedroom semi-detached and detached houses with prices starting at #53,000. Show homes are also open at Avonlea Gate in Hamilton, where two-bedroom properties start a #42,500.
Then it was on to cheese and wine for the launch of the show areas at two new developments in Crookston in south west Glasgow. Royal Oaks and The Beeches, which have three show homes each, are part of the redevelopment of an area at Castlewood. Prices at Royal Oaks start at #84,995 for three bedrooms, and at the Beeches #62,995, for a two-bedroom semi-detached house.
Crowning glory
Miller Homes has launched the new phase of private housing which forms part of the Crown Street regeneration project in the Gorbals area of Glasgow. Caledonia Gardens consists of 86 properties with a mix of one, two and three-bedroom flats, three-bedroom maisonettes, and three-bedroom townhouses, with prices ranging from #39,000. The Gardens will be built facing the new Gorbals Park.
A Priority Purchase Scheme will operate at the new development with priority being given to existing Glasgow City Council tenants on the council waiting list and first-time buyers. The opening of a new three-bedroom semi-detached show home heralds the launch of the latest phase of Miller's Park View development in Cranhill, Glasgow. Many of the homes in the development are built around childsafe cul-de-sacs and the latest phase provides a choice of two and three-bedroom, semi-detached and detached properties in six house styles. Prices range from #49,250 to #75,500.
At Miller's luxury Danes Drives development in Scotstoun, Glasgow, two detached properties remain for sale and for early settlement (by the end of this month) a special #5000 discount is being offered on both. The properties are three-bedroom detached villas featuring lounge/dining room, kitchen, cloakroom, ensuite shower room, bathroom and integral garage.
Prices - before the discount - are #120,000 and #124,000 depending on plot choice.
Well above par
TURNBERRY Homes are offering early entry discounts on selected properties at their Rowantree Gardens development at Chapelhall, near Airdrie, where house types include two-bedroom detached bungalows, three-bedroom semi detached and three and four-bedroom detached villas with prices starting from #66,950. Discounts also apply at Rankin Rise in Greenock, where prices start at #64,950 and properties include two-bedroom bungalows and three-bedroom semi detached and detached villas. A few two-bedroom flats, priced from #55,950, remain at the company's Dumbarton development in Dumbuck Gardens and two-bedroom executive flats with en suites will soon be available at Dumbuck Green priced from #73,950. Three-bedroom, semi-detached and detached villas are at Springhill Gardens in Barrhead are priced from #65,950.
Different class
ONE of Glasgow's most elegant showhomes is open to view at The Park, on Lynedoch Street. The Burrell company has undertaken the refurbishment and conversion of these Victorian buildings, once a girls' school. Prices, including a designated off-street parking space, start from #102,500 for a spacious one-bedroom apartment.
Tempting offers
JB BENNETT is currently offering a wide range of incentives on a number of sites including Castleton Park, Auchterarder, where detached bungalows are priced from #93,850, and Castlehill Gate, Kippin, where there has recently been a new release of spacious four-bedroom detached bungalows and five-bedroom detached villas from #134,850.
Fabulous features
INGLENOOK Fireplaces, hand finished kitchens, quarry tiles, Hollywood-style bathrooms, hardwood floors, Yorkshire paving, exposed brick, stained glass and lots of cupboard space are just some of the luxury features to be included in a new development of four and five-bedroom detached properties in Kilsyth. The houses, priced from around #165,000, are the work of an independent developer and are being marketed by G & S Properties.
Mature properties
A McCARTHY & Stone show complex has opened at the company's new Strawhill Road development in Clarkston. Specialists in new build properties for retired people, flats at the new site are priced from #63,950.
Straight to the point
WESTPOINT has just opened a new showhome at its Argyle Drive development in Hamilton. The company is working towards an August opening for its new Glasgow development in Partick, where 94 flats, priced from #80,000, will be built. Meanwhile, there are some properties available at Westpoint's Sutherland Park site in Coatbridge, priced from #57,500. The larger three-bedroom detached houses have an attractive split level with balustrade feature in the lounge/dining area and kitchen.
Royal appointment
STUNNING McLean showhomes can be viewed at more than 10 sites in Scotland. These include Cambuslang, Falkirk, Irvine, Livingston, Wemyss Bay, Kilmarnock and Saltcoats. The company's new Royal Collection of homes includes the Sovereign which features two en suites, a cloakroom and a big inter-connecting kitchen/utility/breakfasting/family area.
It grows on you
NOVICE gardeners who buy a home on the new Grange development in Bonnyrigg, near Dalkeith, east of Edinburgh, can get a free consultation this summer with a profesional landscape designer. Prices at the Grange range from #75,000 to #113,000 for two and three-bedroom detached bungalows to three and four-bedroom detached villas.
