GIVEN that the new homes market is a fiercely competitive one, it's interesting to note the spirit of co-operation that can often exist amongst rival developers on the same site. Recently, this has been particularly evident at Robroyston on Glasgow's north-eastern boundary, where no fewer than six companies have been busy building a wide variety of attractive new homes ranging from two bedroom semi-detached properties to four bedroom detached villas.
In fact, Wimpey, Redrow, Bett, Bellway, Bryant and Stewart Milne have recently got together and chosen a proper name for the emerging new community, which is to be called Robroyston Fields.
Of course, the individual sites within Robroyston Fields being developed by each participating company will continue to be known by their existing names: Wimpey's Brookfields, Redrow's Wallacewell Park, Bett's Campsie Rise, Bellway's Orchard Park, Bryant's Murrons Lea and Stewart Milne's Kings Meadow.
Bellway Homes' Orchard Park development at Robroyston Fields comprises an extensive combination of three and four bedroom semi and semi-detached homes. Prices at Orchard Park start at #72,500 for a three bedroom semi-detached Callander and #84,750 for a three bedroom detached Gordon and rise to #107,500 for a four bedroom detached Blair with integral garage.
Bett Homes' new Campsie Rise development of 75, three and four bedroom detached properties at Robroyston Fields has prices starting at #83,995 and a choice of seven different house styles including the spacious new Crammond, a four bedroom detached villa priced at #101,995.
The popular three bedroom Appin at #83,995 offers owners the luxury of an en suite shower room and details such as high ceilings, ample cupboard space, large rooms and an integral single garage.
The Bryant Homes' Murrons Lea development is proving very popular, with 50% of the available three and four bedroom houses already sold. Among the house styles available is the four bedroom Harewood. At 1085 sq ft, the Harewood includes most of the characteristics associated with its bigger cousins - separate dining room and lounge, downstairs cloakroom and utility and two bathrooms, one of these en suite to the master bedroom. One Harewood is available immediately and includes carpets, curtains and light fittings in the price of #102,000.
Redrow Homes' stylish properties at Wallacewell Park are delighting homebuyers at Robroyston Fields. For first time buyers there are three bedroom semi-detached properties for #64,950 and there are four bedroom detached styles from #97,750.
Customers Craig Gibson and Jackie Storrie became the first to reserve a property at Wallacewell Park. Moving from nearby Bishopbriggs, the couple are happily settled and enjoying family life in their three bedroom detached Buchan with daughter Amber Rose. Said Jackie: ''We wanted to stay in the area because of our families, and everything about Wallacewell Park and Robroyston Fields was so special it proved too hard to resist.''
Wimpey Homes' Brookfields development at Robroyston Fields is proving to be one of the most popular locations for Wimpey in the West of Scotland with 53 new homes already sold. Brookfields has two, three and four bedroom homes from the Optima and Celebration ranges which combine flexible living with good design.
Starting prices range from #61,995 for two bedroom semi detached homes up to #115,995 for four bedroom detached homes. A Wimpey show village with eight house types, is located at Robroyston Fields and is open seven days a week from 11am to 5pm.
Stewart Milne Homes has enjoyed such outstanding success with its Kings Meadow development at Robroyston Fields that only one home remains to be sold. It is the three bedroom detached Flamborough with garage and landscaped garden at a fixed price of #86,950.
