A garage boss was jailed for 12 months yesterday and banned from driving for four years after putting a female pillon passenger through a terrifying ordeal as he rode a motorbike at up to 120mph while over the drink-drive limit. John Fraser, 49, of Crookston Drive, Glasgow, pled guilty on indictment to driving dangerously and with almost three times the permitted amount of alcohol in his breath.
Paisley Sheriff Court heard how passenger Irene McLean, without a crash helmet, clung on as his machine sped through streets in Linwood and the Houston area last July. Sheriff Richard McFarlane said it was fortunate no-one had been killed.
