A TEENAGE British soldier serving in the Nato-led peace force in Bosnia died of gunshot wounds yesterday.

Trooper Aled Jones, 18, who is believed to come from Pwllheli, Gwynedd, was serving with the Queen's Dragoon Guards in Kljuc in western Bosnia.

Nato officials ruled out the involvement of any of Bosnia's former warring factions in the death. The Ministry of Defence said the death was under investigation by the Royal Military Police. Crime was not suspected.

The number of British soldiers killed in Bosnia since the operation began in 1992 has risen to 24.
