Germany 2, Denmark 0

IT was not all one-way traffic in Munich last night but Germany were deserved winners.

Denmark could have opened the scoring in 16 minutes when Rangers' Brian Laudrup raced into the penalty area only to be brought down German keeper Oliver Kahn, although no penalty was awarded.

Both German goals were scoring by Oliver Bierhoff, playing in only his second international.

His first came in 44 minutes after a superb run and cross from the left from midfielder Christian Ziege. Then, just after the hour mark, the Udinese striker headed home from a Thomas Haessler through ball.
