POLICE have started a murder investigation after a 44-year-old woman died of injuries sustained in a domestic incident on New Year's Day.
Three men were originally charged with attempted murder after the incident at a flat in Home Street, Edinburgh, early on January 1.
The men, who have not been named, were remanded in custody after they appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Saturday.
But police are now treating the case as a murder investigation after Ms Linda Anderson, from Wester Hailes, died as a result of her injuries.
They are trying to trace the movements of Ms Anderson on Hogmanay before she went to the flat in Home Street and have appealed for information.
