THREE men returned to court yesterday to face a murder charge following the death of a 44-year-old woman in Edinburgh's Western General Hospital.
They had appeared in court last Saturday accused of attempting to murder Mrs Linda Anderson in a common stair in the Tollcross area of the city in the early hours of New Year's Day. Mrs Anderson died later on Saturday. Mr Duncan Edwards, 30, and Mr Hughie James, 30, both of Home Street, Tollcross, Edinburgh, and Mr Craig Dundas, 36, of Monktonhall Terrace, Musselburgh, made no plea or declaration at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday and were remanded in custody. They are accused of murdering Mrs Anderson, kicking and stamping on her head and hitting her with an unknown instrument.
