FOX — MARLA. Died 6th March 2003. My Aunty Marla spoiled me, introducing me to Fullers’ iced walnut cake, strawberry milkshakes, Russian tea and knickerbocker glories. Aged about 3 or 4, my clothes were chosen by my Aunt and specially made by a seamstress with my shoes co-ordinated with each outfit, being smart and fashionable was important to her. As a teenager, I wanted a black leather coat to emulate the Beatles - well it had to be from Dalys, the best department store in Sauchiehall Street, then she took me to Lizars for horn rimmed spectacles, to match John Lennon’s - she footed the hefty bill so I could copy my idols. She was awfully good to me. - Niece Carole
