LEES - Ingrid (Bearsden, Glasgow) Passed away peacefully in Oban on 5th July 2024. Dearly loved wife of Brian, mother of Julia, Karen, Alison and Janet and Omi of Kiera, Anna, Alice, Jamie and Rebecca. Born 1939 in Berlin, Ingrid endured many hardships in her early life. Her career as a midwife took her to the UK and then to Africa in voluntary service, returning to the UK with Brian to raise a family. Later tutoring German language while becoming prolific as an artist and poet. A very wise, practical and resourceful lady who didn't give up on anything easily. We fondly remember Ingrid and the good times we had together. Funeral at 10.30am on 24th July at New Kilpatrick Church, Bearsden. No flowers please, donations welcome to Mary's Meals or Sightsavers. We will have an informal celebration for both Ingrid and Brian at Kilmardinny house at 12.30pm. RSVP 07404567605.

Both Jenny and I loved Ingrid very much and always enjoyed her company at Mirrorball events over the years. Such a positive personality, despite having been through some awful times.
I seem to remember she was also a musician but maybe my memory is playing up.
Sadly I will be on the Isle of Lewis on the day of the funereal but I can assure you I will be thinking kindly of her on that day. With much love Dai Vaughan.
