MAXWELL MACDONALD Sir John Sir John Maxwell Macdonald of Largie and of Pollok Bt., died peacefully in the Campbeltown Hospital on 24th December 2023, aged 87. Beloved husband of Ruth, father of Jock, Angus and Victoria and grandfather to five. Funeral service in Cardross Crematorium on Thursday 18th January 2024 at 1.15pm. A memorial service will be held in St Kiaran's Church, Argyll Street, Campbeltown on Friday 9th February at 12 noon.Tributes

I think the Maxwell family were the kindest of people to their tenants and their families down the years. The Speedie family occupied the South Lodge which was part of the security system of
Pollok House. My father and mother attended the twenty first birthday of Sir John Maxwell MacDonald. at Pollok House. I’d like to enclose a photograph.
I am Gladys Speedie., the younger daughter of constable John Speedie. I had a wonderful childhood at the South Lodge.. Greatly appreciated Sir John’s grandfather 14th baronet.
People of Glasgow daily able to enjoy Pollok Park. Thank you so much. I’ll try to send the photograph later.
