McKAY - Maureen (née Bain) (Fairmilehead/Glasgow) It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maureen at home on Sunday, 26th November, 2023, aged 74, after a long and brave fight against cancer. Maureen was a beloved and devoted wife to Jack, a loving and caring mother to Jennifer and Paul, much-loved mother-in-law to Jemma and Johnny, and a doting and adored gran to Joseph, Iris, Charlotte, and Imogen. She will be hugely missed by all including her brother Bill, sister Lesley, their spouses and all her nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces, cousins, and friends. A Requiem Mass will be held on Thursday 14th December, at St Mark's R.C. Church, Oxgangs, Edinburgh, EH13 9HX, at 10am, followed by a short service at 12 noon, at Mortonhall Crematorium, Main Chapel, 30B Howden Hall Road, EH16 6TX. Family flowers only please. However, if desired, donations can be made in memory of Maureen after the funeral service, or via www.porteousfunerals.com/obituaries/ to be shared between Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie in recognition of their inspiring work.
