I met John when I came to Alberta as he did, pursuing a career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. John may not have known it but he was an inspiration to me, showing me what I could achieve in Alberta. He was a fine physician, a leader and teacher, but i have to say, that I most loved was his great sense of humour.
