HIGGINS - Walter Currie 2nd February, 2023 in his 90th year at Wishaw General, Walter Currie Higgins. Pre-deceased by his son Alan Norman Higgins, survived by his beloved wife Sarah and daughter Angela (Vlad) who feel privileged at having shared their lives with him. Walter was a truly good man, who escorted his family in adventures around the world. His profession as a civil engineer with Howden Glasgow gave him the opportunity to emigrate to Canada in 1977. Following which, the family lived for several years in each of (in chronological order) Toronto, Boston, Ottawa, Kuala Lumpur, Niagara Falls and an eventual return to Scotland. In each destination, Walter nurtured professional and personal relationships and his kindness, intelligence, humour and honourability will be missed by friends and colleagues the world over. True to his life as a completely unselfish man, he has donated his body to the University of Glasgow. His wife and daughter would like to thank the staff of ward 6 at Wishaw General who treated Walter with incredible dignity, respect and caring in his final weeks. Words cannot properly express their gratitude.
