Blanche Perris Kahn

Published on 24/01/2023

PERRIS KAHN - Blanche Blanche Louise Perris Kahn died on 8th December, 2022, in New York City. Born in the Gorbals, Glasgow, to Leah Cronenberg Perris and Samuel Perris (Pairos), she grew up on Ballater Street. At 21, Blanche set out for New York City. Working on Wall Street, she met and married Alan Kahn, with whom she had her two daughters. In her 40s, she began taking part-time classes at Queens College. Her studies were interrupted by divorce and ovarian cancer, but in 1990 Blanche received her Bachelor's degree in art history, with honors. She worked as an assistant registrar at the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Her work took her on worldwide adventures, escorting art to and from museums and lenders. In 2006 she married Duilio Bacci and moved to San Francisco. Blanche worked at the Met and Contemporary Jewish Museum stores, where she loved interacting with customers from around the world. Blanche had an impeccable sense of fashion and meticulously coordinated her clothing and accessories. Blanche was as tough as she was beautiful; her medical team was awed by her strength in the face of lung cancer. She had an iron will. Blanche is survived by her husband Duilio Bacci, daughters Amanda Kahn-Kirby and Kimberly Kahn (and families), and sister Sara Kurtz.
