McLEAN - Hugh Haddow Unexpectedly at home on Saturday 29th October 2022, due to heart failure. Beloved husband of the late Ilse, loving and beloved father of Fiona and doting and much loved owner of Rabbie, his loyal four-legged companion. Hugh had a long and rich life. He had an interesting and rewarding career - first in the British Army, then working for the European civil service - which took him all over the world. When he retired, he was drawn back home to Bonnie Scotland. Hugh touched the hearts and lives of neighbours, friends and family both near and far. He will be greatly missed, but also fondly remembered for his wit, warmth and generosity as well as his very strong political opinions. A private service will be held to celebrate Hugh's life and to bid him a fond farewell. Donations in Hugh's memory to the Gurkha Welfare Trust, which was very close to his heart, would be gratefully received.
