WEIR - Douglas Suddenly at Forth Valley Royal Hospital on 30th June, 2022, aged 79. Beloved husband of Alison, much loved and devoted father to Lesley and Steven, and father-in-law to Rory. Loving and adored grandpa to Hayley and Ethan. Former Dean of the Faculty of Education and emeritus Professor of University of Strathclyde, former Vice-Convenor, GTC Scotland. Friends and family are invited to attend Douglas' funeral service on Friday 15th July, 2022, at 11.30am at Falkirk Crematorium. No flowers please, the family would welcome anyone who wishes to make donations to Save the Children and a donation box will be available on the day.

I was saddened to learn of Douglas's death. He was a valued and respected colleague at both Glasgow University and (later) at Strathclyde, where he served with distinction as Dean. As Head of Educational Studies, I could always rely on his advice and support. Please accept my sincere condolences.
