MACFARLANE - Rev. Dr Thomas G. Macfarlane, B.Sc. Ph.D. BD, ARTC Died peacefully, at Glenfield Home, Greenock, father to Ken, Trumpton and Colin, grandfather to Hazel and Rory, and minister to South Shawlands ('68 - '96), Falkirk St James ('61 - '68), and Mufilira, in the Zambian copper belt ('56-'61), and originally of St Margaret's, Knightswood. He was also Rev. John Whiteford's assistant in Newlands South after he retired, and from 2007, took services in Linwood Parish, Paisley St James, and in Finnart St Paul's until he retired for the 2nd time, aged 85. Now retired for good to be with Vina again and the many parishioners and friends up there that have preceded him in beating a path to that better place, where hopefully he will rest in peace, playing scrabble, to his heart's content. Following a private cremation, a Service of Thanksgiving will take place at the Lyle Kirk, on Monday 4th April at 11am.
