MORE - Ian Aitken Ross Peacefully, at the Marie Curie Hospice, Glasgow, on Sunday 2nd January, 2022. Ian, much loved husband of the late Eleanor and retired Consultant Pathologist at the Western Infirmary. Funeral service to take place at Daldowie Crematorium, East Chapel on Friday 21st January, 2022 at 2pm, to which all friends and family are welcome. No flowers please but donations, if desired, to Marie Curie Hospice, Glasgow.

Saddened this morning to read that Ian has passed away. My condolences to family and close friends. I got to know both Ian and Eleanor when working in Strathkelvin Libraries. They supported Lennoxtown and William Patrick Libraries throughout the years, during which time Ian and I got to know each other quite well; we always managed a blether and I very much appreciated his friendship and support at library events, especially those in the new William Patrick Library. We kept in touch by email when I retired in 2006 and my family moved to Guernsey. Upon our return to Scotland a few years later, Ian and I had hoped to meet up for lunch. Unfortunately this never happened and we lost touch. I remember Eleanor well and always felt they were a lovely and very friendly couple. RIP Ian. Colin ( robertsoncj@talk21. com )
