SHAW - Robert (Bob) It is with great sadness that the family of Mr Robert Shaw announces his passing after a short illness, on 6th October, 2021, at the age of 78. Robert (Bob) passed away peacefully in Glasgow at The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn, his son (David) and daughter (Nico), his sister (Jean) and three grandchildren, Euan, David and Mia. Robert was the Head of Product Design at Glasgow School of Art before he retired after nearly 4 decades spent at the Mac. He focussed very keenly on family and experiencing the world. It was well known how much he enjoyed sailing up the west coast, mastering the art of the parallel turn on the Scottish ski slopes and in the Swiss Alps, not to mention passing on his knowledge of cunning manoeuvres on a squash court to both offspring and grandchildren. His family and friends will have a private commemoration service as he would have wished.

My name is Jane Scott, my maiden name was Dimmer and my mother's maiden name was Hinchliffe. She had regular contact with Thelma Shaw (nee Hinchliffe) who was a first cousin, and also Jean Shaw. Indeed, Thelma and Tom Shaw, together with Jean and the late Ian Shaw, came to my wedding in Chester in 1972 - I have a photo of them. Contact with Jean Shaw was lost some time ago and my mother died in 2009. I have been researching my maternal family tree and have just found this obituary, sadly too late to make contact with Robert. So, I was wondering if you could put me in touch with Jean. I don't know if she married and there was no response to a letter I sent to an address she may have lived at in 2010. I would be most grateful for any assistance you could offer in contacting Jean.
