I am deeply saddened to hear of Marie's passing and wish to pass on my condolences to Hazell and Frances. I knew Marie for 40 years having met her at Strathclyde University. Over many years before lockdown we met regularly at Kimbles and M&S cafe. Despite her being in constant pain and discomfort Marie was incredibly sociable and interested in many things, particularly politics. She never lost her passion for progressive politics. We were both very much looking forward to being able to meet again in person and once again enjoy our soup and glass of wine. Marie was a dear friend and I will miss her very much.
