ROBSON - Thomas (Penfield/Palmyra) Thomas; died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, 21st February, 2021 at the age of 70 after a prolonged illness. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Julie (Rosenquist), son Brian (Brandy), daughter and caregiver Catriona Guthrie (Brian), granddaughters Emma and Charlotte Guthrie, brother Peter (Marie), sister-in-law Valerie Rosenquist, brothers-in-law Kerry (Wanda) Rosenquist and Jeff (Mary) Rosenquist, nephews Stewart (Karen), Kenneth, Ryan, Mark, and Patrick (Jenna) Rosenquist, and great-nephew Weston Rosenquist. He is predeceased by his father Kenneth, mother Helen (Toner), and brothers-in-law Mitch and Scott Rosenquist and Robert Mick and nephew Nathan Rosenquist. A graduate and PhD recipient of Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Scotland, Thomas lived the ultimate American dream. Growing up with modest means, Thomas made his move to the United States where he made significant contributions to modern technology, holding dozens of patents in cell phone and printing systems. Thomas embraced his life in America, but proudly held his Scottish citizenship and regularly participated in events thrown by the local Scottish Heritage Society including highland games and Burns' Night Suppers. It was not at all uncommon to stop by his home and hear Scottish folk music blasting with him singing along enthusiastically. Per his last wishes, his remains will be returned to his home country and spread on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, a place he visited regularly with his wife and children. Family and friends are invited to call from 1-4pm on Wednesday, 24th February at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, Inc., 123 W. Main St., Palmyra. Masks will be required. Funeral services will be private. Please consider memorials to the Cleveland Clinic Lung Transplant Unit, 9500 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44195 or https://my.clevelandclinic.org/giving.
