From the Barr family, Tayvallich. We were shocked and saddened to hear of Nick’s untimely death and send our condolences to all the family. Remembering a great chat I had with Joan and Nick at Carsaig jetty in the summer, and hearing of their plans for retirement which have now been taken away. Very sad.

Just a brief and inadequate message to all of the family and especially to Joan, Claire, Paul and Vincent to offer my condolences on the unforeseen death of Nicholas. I was really shocked when Ronnie Renton told me about it last week. I continued to meet Nicholas in the west end, ususally in the vicinity of the baths, until recently. He always took the time to stop for a chat and to bring me up to date with famiky news. I always felt the better for meeting him. His loss will be keenly felt by many. It's such a pity that the current restrictions mean that so few will be able to join you at his funeral. I was so pleased to see that it was being held at St Aloysius' Church. Requiescat in pace.
