MACINTYRE - Eric William Peacefully at home on 8th February 2021, Eric Macintyre, aged 97. Devoted husband to his deeply loved late wife Flora (Hillon) and father of Brian and Barry. Grandfather to Ailsa and Euan and great-grandfather to Violet. Formerly of the Royal Bank of Scotland and known to many as "Mr Mac". He will be sadly missed. The family is grateful to all the carers and friends who looked after him so well and whose actions spoke louder than words. A private funeral will take place at Linn Crematorium.

Remembering Eric or as I called him also Mr Mac after 25yrs if knowing him we became good friends and shared many a laughter and sometimes tears together. Sadly due to covid-19 restrictions I was not able to visit as much as I would have liked in past year though thankfully to Barry I was able to visit him the day before he passed away and say my last goodbyes with a heavy heart but know he is now at peace . Will always be remember 😓

Eric became a part of our lives in 1991 when we met him in Calis, Turkey - he then became ‘holiday grandpa’ to our 2 girls who looked forward every summer to meeting up with him - we ate with him almost every night for our month long holidays & Brian & I had many a good laugh with him - sadly he didn’t get to know that our daughter Jennifer is about to become a Mum - we last saw him when visited him in Kingsley Gardens just before Jennifer emigrated to Canada & Lorraine hopes to follow suit soon - sending our sincere sympathy & love to the family - he was a one off for sure & will be sadly missed Brian, Bernadette, Lorraine, Jennifer & Martin ❤️❤️ (O’Hare)
