James, my dear friend.
Ae fond kiss, and then we sever;
Ae fareweel, alas, for ever!
Never met - or never parted,
I’d ne’er been broken - hearted.

To the Mitchell Family , i want to express my sincerest condolences on behalf of all Jims Canadian golfing pals . I first me your dad 25 years ago in Ireland and since then we have got together every year usually at the Black Bush tournament in Portrush. Last year i was fortunate to spend to days with him in Glasgow and we had a wonderful time . We have had a golf tournament in his honour over that past five years and this year we had 40 players show up in Canada for the right to win his trophy. ( beaming james Mitchell smiling ) on the trophy . The tournament is now 5 years old and Jim presented the first and second winners the trophy , he got a great kick out of a tournament named after him played by a bunch of Canadians . My two sons met Jim and spent many an evening chatting with him and we all agreed he was a unique character and they always looked forward to seeing him in Portrush .
Rest in peace Jimmy , we love you , John Pam , Patrick Sean Mooney and all the Canadians pals he met over the years .

To all the Mitchell Family you are in our thoughts. Jimmy was a great character and I shared many trips abroad with him. Spoke to him most days and was shocked to hear of his passing. He will be sadly missed. I have a lot of great memories of fun times. Also was a very dear friend to my belated father Ronnie. Thinking of you all and will miss you Jimmy from Stuart & Fiona McGregor xx
