RINTOUL - Alexander Mathieson Peacefully at Hairmyres Hospital on 23rd April 2020, aged 91, with his daughter Fiona by his side. Adored by his family and cherished by his many friends, Alex led a full and active life until the end and will be greatly missed. Due to the lockdown, there will be a private funeral at Lambhill Cemetery on Wednesday, 6th May at 2pm, followed by a celebration of Alex's life at a later date.

Sign in to add a tributeWe were so sorry to learn today that your dear Dad had died in April. He was a lovely, cheerful gentleman, with a vast knowledge of Scotland .
John and I knew him through Rambling , Kilbryde Burns Club and mutual friends, Mae and Willie Mair. He had a great sense of humour and gave such enjoyable and informative talks at the clubs.
