McDOUGALL - Jean Peacefully at Mugdock House Care Home, Bearsden, on Thursday 23rd April 2020, Dr Jean Weir McDougall (née Roberts), aged 96, beloved and loving wife for 63 years of the late Dr Neil McDougall. Much loved mother of Sheena, Marion and Colin, mother-in-law and dear friend of Michael, Christopher and Lesley, and proud and loving Grandma of Caitlin, Joanna, Lauren and Eilidh. Due to current circumstances a private funeral service for immediate family only will be held on 11th May 2020. The family greatly appreciates the excellent care and love shown to Jean by all staff at Mugdock House over the last four years. When circumstances allow, the family hopes to hold a memorial service to celebrate Jean's long and rewarding life.

Such sad news, many many happy memories of this truly wonderful lady who will be missed but remembered by many people. I particularly remember Jean for the incredible support that she personally gave me throughout my late mother's terminal illness over 40 years ago.She was always the soul of discretion and could be relied upon for a reassuring chat, cup of tea and a regular Sunday dinner!!! Here is one of my favourite pictures of her doing what she was so good at, enjoying something tasty! Sincere condolences to Sheena, Marion and Colin and all of their families too. She was a much loved mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. Rest in peace lovely lady!
