REID - Robert Westwater Peacefully at Antonine House Care Home, Bearsden on Sunday 23rd February 2020, Bob, beloved husband of the late Roma, much loved father of John, Jane and Robbie, devoted grandpa of Elizabeth, Robert, Jenny, Susie, Shonagh and Clare and loving great-grandpa of Eilidh, Alexander, Hannah and Liliana, Marsaili and Aila. Funeral at Glasgow Crematorium, Maryhill, Old Chapel G23 5AA on Monday 9th March at 11.15am. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to Alzheimer Scotland and Cancer Research U.K., please.

Bob was an inspirational teacher who encouraged even the smallest spark of interest in music. His visit to my primary school in the early 60s led to my taking up the violin which I continued at Knightswood Secondary, and still get great enjoyment from playing.

Like many, I have a lot to thank him for and probably didn't appreciate then the time and effort he put into the orchestra and school shows (West Side Story!).

I'm sad to learn, belatedly, of his passing. Thanks Mr Reid!
