What's the story?

7500.

Let me guess. The number of times you've opened the fridge today?

Close. It's a hijacking thriller starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, soon to be released on Amazon Prime Video.

What else have I seen him in?

Well, there's 500 Days of Summer and the TV series 3rd Rock from the Sun. More recently, he played the lead in Snowden.

Tell me more.

The film, 7500, is set entirely inside the flight deck of a commercial plane. Gordon-Levitt plays Tobias, a pilot flying the aircraft from Berlin to Paris. After the hijackers attempt to storm the cockpit, he is left injured and manning the controls alone, his colleague bleeding heavily beside him.

Not Airplane! then.

Definitely not. Written and directed by Patrick Vollrath, 7500 makes nail-bitingly tense viewing. Tobias must keep control of the plane as he negotiates with the terrorists, knowing that his flight attendant girlfriend is among the hostages.

When he contacts air traffic control to request an emergency landing in Hanover, the terrorists threaten to kill a passenger unless allowed access to the cockpit. Following airline protocol, Tobias refuses, yet finds his resolve put to the test as events unfold.

When can I watch?

7500 is released on Amazon Prime Video this Friday.
