The Fringe Festival sees the city spring to life with new venues and bars popping up all over the place. We have put together a list of three of our favourite pop-up food and drink places to go to during this year’s festival.

  • FOOD

Mac n cheese Van

Found in George Square is the best mac n cheese in town. It is the perfect size with a variety of toppings and extra flavours. This van provides the best food to get whilst on-the-go to a show.

Mimi’s Bakery

For a treat during the Fringe, Mimi’s van is ready at George Square. There are fresh bakes and cupcakes that’ll keep you sweet and energised during the festival. They have different cakes every day, so be sure to check it out more than once.

Toni Macaroni

The Toni Macaroni van is the saviour on the Royal Mile. It is located at the bottom of this hectic street, and has pizza slices to grab whilst you’re on-the-go.

  • DRINKS

The Gilded Balloon Gardens

Edinburgh’s Bistro Square has transformed into a beautiful garden. This circular garden is lined with bars, and there is a fabulous cocktail station located right in the middle. This garden is perfect for an afternoon Pimms or a late-night glass of fizz.

56 North – Tanqueray Secret Garden

Tanqueray Gin, the perfect mixers and summery cocktails. This secret garden provides some peace and quiet from the festival, and is found right next to the Fringe’s biggest venues, so you are just a stagger away from all the action.

TheSpace Bar on Niddry Street

Found down the cobbled Niddry Street is theSpace’s pop-up bar. It has a large sitting area and is perfect for grabbing a drink before a show, meeting with friends or listening to some live music. With Thistly Cross cider on tap and Espresso Martinis to have on the go, this pop-up bar is a great spot for any fringe-goer.
