- What is your Fringe show about?
So it’s about my love of TV and how TV bleeds in to my own life. This is my chance to show the audience the contents of my imagination! When I watch Game Of Thrones, I imagine what it would be like if the cast were on This Morning with Phil and Holly or when I see Jeremy Kyle, I want him to sort out my domestics. The show is Stand Up and sketches. It’s super silly, super fun and packed full of impressions. The most I’ve ever had in a show.
- How many times/many years have you appeared at the Fringe?
This is my fifth time and my fourth show! I first came to Edinburgh with my show The Only Way Is Downton in a 49-seater shipping container and now I’m excited to be in a 110 seater!
- What’s your most memorable moment from the Fringe?
When I was performing my Downton show in 2013 I had three cast members of the actual TV show come and watch, it was surreal and terrifying experience.
- What’s the worst thing about the Fringe?
TIREDNESS. I love every second but getting the adrenaline up to the levels you need it each day does get super tough.
- If you were not a performer what would you be doing?
I would be football commentator. That’s what I’ve always wanted to do. Although, when I was seven I wanted to be an ice-cream man, so maybe that. You wanna flake?
- How do you prepare for a performance?
I go and watch 18 shows, every day. Gets me in the mood 7 Favourite thing about being in Edinburgh?
It’s all my good mates, being in the same place being anxious together. It’s half putting on comedy shows, half therapy. In all serious, it’s like a holiday camp.
- What’s the most Scottish thing you’ve ever done?
Married a Scottish girl in St Andrews with a kilt on! And my dog was also in a kilt. What more could I do? I also do an exceptional Andy Murray impression.
- Favourite Scottish food/drink?
Irn Bru ice cream sundae… yeah baby!
- Sum up your show in three words
SILLY, IMAGINITIVE, TOTES-HILLAIR

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
