Perspective. How it varies depending on where you’re standing. Nothing is concrete. Even concrete.
- How many times/many years have you appeared at the Fringe?
This is my third hour and my sixth over all.
- What’s your most memorable moment from the Fringe?
Gosh big question, and so may memories that’ll be sad if I don’t mention them.
- What’s the worst thing about the Fringe?
Drama students who haven’t been heartbroken yet on the Royal Mile singing about their f***ing plays.
- If you were not a performer what would you be doing?
Living with my mum in a crushing spiral of self-loathing and fantastical dreaming, too fattened by Linda McCartney sausages to motivate myself to change my life.
- How do you prepare for a performance?
I stand in a corner talking to myself, like Ronaldo about to take a free kick.
- Favourite thing about being in Edinburgh?
Being away from my life in every way. You can’t beat a month away to show you how pathetic your little routines are. Freedom.
- What’s the most Scottish thing you’ve ever done?
Eating a macaroon while shouting over a man playing bagpipes.
- Favourite Scottish food/drink?
Macaroons, they get me so high, the sugar content and coconut sprinkle topping.

Show summary
On the back of last year's critically acclaimed Love Machine and an appearance on Live from the BBC (BBC Worldwide), Tom Ward is going in for a closer inspection of his favourite themes: love, freedom and aloneness. Join the hip-haired one as he takes a look at the burgeoning "cutesy culture", the myth of sunglasses, the cold slap of passport photos, the reality of sex parties, visions of an Uber vs black cab utopia, living alone and dancing with his mother. '
