Director of Glasgow Americana Kevin Morris reports that music fans from Holland and Eire as well as Shetland and Eriskay were among the 700 who attended the seven concerts in this year's festival, which included two sold out performances. Plans for next year's event are already well underway, he added.

"It is our tenth anniversary so we'll be making special announcements in due course about who will be on the bill. We look forward to welcoming fans who has experienced Glasgow Americana before, and anyone who wants to sample the festival of music for the first time as well," he said

Best known for his solo piano concerts and recordings and concerto appearances with the world's orchestras, Osborne was introduced to improvised music through playing transcriptions of the work of Bill Evans and in these concerts he is partnered by bassist Eddie Gomez, who played with Evans from 1966 to 1977. The duo will be accompanied by the Britten Sinfonia under the baton of Kristjan Jarvi for some of the programme, which includes Claus Ogerman's orchestral arrangement of Evans' Symbiosis (Part II), which was originally released on disc in 1974.
