Traditional Arts Development has announced further instalments in its series of illustrated presentations and concerts held in Adelaides in Bath Street, Glasgow. Tales of the early Glasgow Folk Scene features music and graphics on Friday, November 6 and the following evening sees a Scottish Women in Folk concert. December’s events will feature the anti-Polaris marches and CND in Scotland (Friday 11) and A Traditional Christmas (Saturday 12). There is an additional presentation on Saturday, November 14 of music, songs and images relating to war and peace including Songs from Warhorse by singer and storyteller Bob Fox.

Cowal Music Club’s next concert features husband and wife violin-accordion duo, Andrea and Djordje Gajic at Cowal Golf Club on Sunday, October 25. The duo’s wide-ranging CVs include performing for Yehudi Menhuin at the age of twelve and teaching Madonna violin (Andrea) and appearing with both the Russian State Symphony Orchestra and the RSNO (Djordje). The concert, sponsored by Campbell’s Paint and Hardware Store, will include works by Bach, Paganini, Brahms, Achron, Sarasate, Part, Massenet, Bartok, and Piazzolla and begins at 3pm.
