Edinburgh-based artists Susie Wilson and Gen Harrison have a longstanding connection with printmaking and a shared love of analogue working. Stitched: Scotland’s Embroidered Art

Glasgow Society of Women Artists and the Bet Low Centenary Exhibition

Don’t miss this double bill of works created by inspirational women and a family of artists at the Lillie Art Gallery in Milngavie. Gallery 1 will showcase the Glasgow Society of Women Artists while Galleries 2 and 3 is showing the Bet Low Centenary Exhibition. If Only We Had the Space

Taking inspiration from Glasgow’s housing redevelopments and movements that span the 60s to the 90s, this exhibition responds to modern and contemporary politics of housing, property rights and access to ‘space’. There’s a new commission from Jeni Allison as well as works in textiles, ceramics and glass by Deirdre Nelson, Fionn Duffy and Jack Brindley whose collective practices overlap art, design and craft.

Nurses and Doctors 1660-1820: An Uneasy Alliance

Learn more about the experiences of women employed as nurses in the years between the final outbreak of plague and the birth of Florence Nightingale as well as their interactions with male practitioners. This lecture at the Royal College of Physicians explores the unstable working relationship between nurses and doctors in the time before nursing reform.

An exhibition of new works in book form, print and sculpture explores how colour is recorded and expressed. The works on display are a radical re-interpretation of landscape photography with some of the reinterpreted images taken in Glasgow during the summer.

Chasing Tractors

For 40 years, Rob Davis has been a keen amateur photographer but during the late summer of 2021 he decided to embark on an outdoor photography project that combined his hobby and rural influences of his youth with the immediate local area. Head along to the exhibition to get a view of South Ayrshire from the inside of the ever-changing agricultural landscape.
