Blanco is a solo exhibition of new work taking its title from white marble dust used in the making of gesso (the foundation for painting). Artist Jo McGonical brings painting into dialogue with landscape through her attention to deep material histories as her gesso is painted directly onto the walls of the gallery.

Taking nature as her starting point, artist Paolozzi Cain presents a series of work that speaks to the invisible process of reconciling opposites. With nature as her starting point, Cain used intuitive processes of drawing, painting and modelling to help visualise the interdependence that exists between the external world and the internal mind.

Dream Destinations

Celebrating the rise of Scotland’s seaside resorts, this exhibition charts the growing popularity of sailing down the Clyde to Helensburgh, Gourock, Largs, Saltcoats, Ayr, Millport, Dunoon and Rothesay back in the 1900s for the day or a staycation. The exhibition also delves into the rivalry between railway and steamship companies as they first worked together then competed for tourist income.

Inked Up: Printmaking in Scotland

The Grain

Artist Richard Goldworthy’s creative approach is a delicate balancing act between his own artistic input and allowing materials to find their own visual expression. The Fourth Wall

Artist Philip Ewe launches his solo exhibition The Fourth Wall, this month. Ewe’s work spans performance, installation, sculpture and film and examines the performativity of gestures and the absurdity that lurks within these interactions. There’s miniature models, filmed falls and gesticulated movements that communicate a sense of impermanence, self and place.
