Status QUO have been crowned 2008's hardest-working rockers after notching up the most arena concerts.
More than 300,000 fans flocked to 35 UK performances by the music icons, narrowly beating Take That who played 34 major gigs as part of the band's chart comeback.
The Kaiser Chiefs, Sugababes and the re-formed Spice Girls completed the top five hardest-working bands, according to the Performing Right Society (PRS).
Sixties favourites Gerry and the Pacemakers picked up the crown for most performances at smaller concert venues, followed by David Essex and Chas & Dave.
And top of the tribute groups was Abba cover band Bjorn Again.
Status Quo have released 75 UK singles since playing their first gig as The Spectres in Dulwich, South London, in 1962.
Frontman Francis Rossi, who turns 60 in May, said: "Playing to our fans is still and has always been the most important thing for the band.
"Nothing beats playing live and this is as relevant today as it always has been."
PRS collects royalties on behalf of the songwriters.
The chart is based on set lists collected from music venues across the UK in order to accurately pay songwriters and composers.
