A family-run hotel overlooking the world’s fifth-oldest golf course has been put on the market for £750,000.

Business property adviser Christie & Co has been instructed to sell Grey Harlings Hotel, at East Links in Montrose.

Christie & Co said that Grey Harlings Hotel, offering nine en-suite guest rooms, “boasts spectacular views over the historic Montrose Golf Links – the fifth oldest course in the world” and is a short walk from the town’s beach front.

The boutique hotel has a lounge, bar and restaurant, beer garden that accommodates 60 guests and a car park. The ground floor features a small gym which has potential for conversion back to a double room if required, the property agent said.

Tony Spence, business agent at Christie & Co, said: “We’re delighted to be marketing the opportunity to acquire a popular business within Montrose, which our clients have owned for over 15 years. The business enjoys multiple revenue streams, operating as a hotel with a bar and restaurant, whilst the guest lounge area also provides an income stream for small functions and events. The business has a large following on Facebook and Instagram and also boasts fantastic reviews on TripAdvisor and Google."

The hotel is being sold at a freehold price of £750,000.
