ADVICE from fellow entrepreneurs can be a lifeline for new businesses struggling to secure funding during the pandemic, according to Sir Tom Hunter.

The entrepreneur was responding to a question from Justin Wingate, publisher and editor of OnTrade Scotland magazine, about gaps in government and banking support during the Covid-19 crisis.

“The peer-to-peer support and lending that goes on is something that differentiates Scotland and it’s the best way to learn,” Sir Tom said.

Lord Willie Haughey said more and more people were turning to crowdfunding. “I know it’s been very successful for Brewdog and other businesses,” he said.

Broadcasting at 11am on Sundays, the Go Radio Business Show features advice and insight from Sir Tom and Lord Haughey. The programme also includes high-profile guests from the Scottish business community.
