A SCOTTISH country house hotel featuring a function suite and bar with capacity for up to 300 guests has been sold for an undisclosed sum.

Christie & Co, which handled the sale of Fife Lodge Hotel at Banff in Aberdeenshire, said the hotel had been purchased by Hamish McLeay for an undisclosed sum.

The Fife Lodge Hotel is located off Sandyhill Road, on one of the principal routes into the north-east coastal town from the south.

The hotel is a detached two-storey property of traditional stone construction.

It features eight ensuite letting rooms.

Christie & Co said the large function room and bar made the hotel "an ideal location for wedding ceremonies, meetings and conferences".

Tony Spence, at Christie & Co, said: “The Fife Lodge hotel has been independently owned and operated for over seven years and is well established within the town. The owner put the hotel on the market to retire and wanted to pass the hotel on to new enthusiastic owners who could continue providing excellent hospitality service to the resident population and larger catchment area.”
