LAW firm Shepherd and Wedderburn has announced that it has recruited sector stablemate Dentons’ 20-strong Scottish private client team.

Shepherd and Wedderburn said the move would create “one of Scotland’s largest private client practices”. It added that the incoming team would “expand the specialist asset protection, personal tax planning, trusts, executries and succession-planning support available to clients”.

The arrival of the Dentons’ team, led by partners Eleanor Kerr and Alexis Graham, will increase the size of Shepherd and Wedderburn’s private client practice to 46.

The team will join Shepherd and Wedderburn on April 1, and will continue to be based primarily in Glasgow.

Andrew Blain, managing partner of Shepherd and Wedderburn, said: “We have been looking at opportunities to invest in and grow our private client practice for some time and are delighted to be acquiring Dentons’ private client practice in Scotland.”

Dentons said: “We can confirm that Eleanor Kerr and Alexis Graham will be joining Shepherd and Wedderburn, and that all members of the firm’s private client practice in Scotland will be transferring to Shepherd and Wedderburn with them.We wish the private client team every success.”
