Key treats: While many of us were able to put our feet up over Easter there was no let-up for key workers – so Glasgow-based wholesaler Failte Foods provided some respite by delivering thousands of chocolate eggs to foodbanks, police and fire stations, care homes, and NHS staff at 52 sites including Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline.

“This is a difficult time for so many hard-working, frontline workers across the local NHS, care homes and emergency services, and we wanted to do something to make them smile and show our appreciation,” said Jim Cummiskey, chief executive of Failte.

Distribution of 21,000 Easter eggs to more than 100 different locations across a 50-mile radius took two days.

Gin for good: On the theme of goodwill, craft distiller Eden Mill has launched a limited-edition blue ceramic bottle of its Original Gin to show its support and raise funds for the NHS.

The St Andrews-based distiller says £2 from every Original Gin Blue Bottle sold at £30 will be donated to help support and protect healthcare workers battling Covid-19 on the frontline.

Five thousand bottles have been created to be sold across the coming months, with donations being made each month to a different NHS associated charity

or project.

The first donation will be made to Masks 4 NHS Heroes, a crowdfunding effort set up by frontline NHS doctors to help raise money for Personal Protective

Equipment (PPE).

Big day boost: Carrying on the good deeds, Eskmills Venue near Edinburgh has teamed up with its suppliers to offer NHS Scotland frontline clinical workers the chance to win an all-inclusive wedding, worth around £12,000.

The competition to win the wedding, which will take place on February 12, 2021, has been set up to give something back to the nurses, care assistants, doctors and other health practitioners risking their lives as they help and treat patients with Covid-19. It has been launched by Hickory, which

manages Eskmills.
