ICE-cream producer Mackie’s of Scotland has launched a multi-pack of four miniature tubs, winning listings for the new product in Sainsbury and Tesco stores throughout Scotland, citing research showing demand for single-serving containers.

“The Mini Collection” is being sold in retail outlets for around £4 per pack. It contains four 120-millilitre tubs, comprising two of each of the brand’s most popular flavours, traditional and honeycomb.

Aberdeenshire-based family business Mackie’s cited research from Kantar showing the UK market for snack-size, ice-cream tubs is worth around £18.2 million annually and has grown by more than 20 per cent in the last year. Mackie’s noted the research had found 57% of consumers would like to see more single-serving sized tubs of ice cream sold in their local supermarkets.
