Hibs highlight: Football fans of a certain vintage might be interested to hear of an event taking place in Leith this Saturday morning.

Hibs legend Pat Stanton will be in attendance as club sponsor Utilita Energy opens its new energy hub on Newkirkgate, where it plans to offer advice for bill payers on how to use their power more efficiently.

“We are here for anyone who wants to make the energy they pay for go further,” said Utilita boss Bill Bullen.

Perhaps more interestingly for Hibs supporters, former captain Stanton, who led the Edinburgh side to League Cup glory in 1972, will be on hand for signings too.

Musical note: Enjoying a stroll through the attractive thoroughfares of Berwick-upon-Tweed last weekend, we stumbled across this amusing, temporary shop sign.

The Bottom Line could not be sure whether there really was a pantomime taking place in the Northumberland town, or indeed anywhere across the UK at the fag end of January.

But staff at the Music Shop on Bridge Street do deserve some recognition for the attempt to cheer up passersby.

It certainly worked for this observer, whose first reaction was to think: oh no they have not!

Media mover: On the move in the Scottish media this week is Kim McAllister, the freelance business journalist and occasional contributor to The Herald.

Ms McAllister has sold her communications consultancy Impact Online to Connect, the Paisley-based publisher.

The deal results in her joining Connect as senior communications consultant, though Ms McAllister will continue her freelance work.

“It really is a dream job for me,” she said.
