MORRISONS is to take on 45 new staff as it doubles its coverage of its online food delivery service in Scotland.
Morrisons started to serve customers in Scotland last autumn, initially around Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Six months down the line it is now expanding to new locations including Dundee, Perth, Stirling and Falkirk, and is set to serve over 1.3 million households.
Morrisons.com booking slots and its green and white vans will now be seen across Stirlingshire, Clackmannanshire, Kinross-shire and Fife, the firm said.
Matt Kelleher, Morrisons.com managing director, said: “We are committed to serving as much of Scotland as we can.
“Our customers want the opportunity to buy groceries from Morrisons.com and we’ll be investing in taking the service to them.”
The Morrisons service will offer one-hour delivery slots. Delivery prices start from 99p with free delivery available for the first month in the customers’ area. Delivery Passes are available to offer savings to regular customers.
Morrisons will also be offering a “fresh check” in which customers will be able to confirm the freshness of the products before they accept them at the doorstep.
The company also says where possible it serves foods from Scottish producers when available.
