A DETAILED planning application has been submitted for a 283,000 square foot Grade A office development in Glasgow’s International Financial Services District (IFSD).
Developer Osborne & Co said the proposed building on Argyle Street would accommodate up to 4,000 people and revitalise a key artery in the city.
The location had several years ago been earmarked for would have been Glasgow’s first six-star hotel, to be run by Dubai-based Jumeirah, before the developer for those plans foundered.

Osborne & Co, which first revealed its plans in February, submitted its proposals to Glasgow City Council after commissioning architect practice Cooper Cromar to carry out economic and historic environment studies on the site.
Osborne & Co was founded by Jim Osborne and Conor Osborne, who work in the UK alongside property investor Jim Kelly. Its proposals address long-running concern about the lack of speculative Grade A office space coming through in Glasgow city centre.
However, a flurry of major schemes have been unveiled by developers in recent weeks, promising to regenerate parts of the city centre. These include proposals by Drum Property Group to develop 1,250,000 square feet of office, housing and leisure riverside space at Tradeston.
Will Hean, development director (Scotland) at Osborne & Co, said: “Following positive consultation with Glasgow City Council planners, Historic Environment Scotland and the local community, we are pleased to formally lodge our detailed planning application with which we aim to begin the process of a major transformation of Glasgow’s best undeveloped city site.”
