ACCOUNTANCY firm EY has report strong UK revenue growth for the year to the end of June, with fee income increasing by just over nine per cent to £2.2 billion.

Distributable profits before tax increased by just under three per cent to £464 million, with the average amount per partner rising from £662,000 to £677,000.

This comes on the back of a global revenue rise of almost eight per cent and, according to Scotland senior partner Mark Harvey, includes growth of 11 per cent in the Scottish business.

“Our business has managed to deliver strong results despite economic uncertainty,” Mr Harvey said. “We have also increased the gender diversity of our leadership team to the highest on record. Overall, 31 per cent of the partnership in Scotland is female with three key areas led by women.”

Mr Harvey added that one of the Scottish arm’s most notable achievements for the year was increasing female representation in its partnership to 31 per cent.

Looking across the UK business as a whole, transaction advisory services was the fastest-growing practice area, with departmental revenues increasing by 15 per cent to £396m.

Larger practices such as assurance and tax had slower growth rates of 11 per cent and nine percent respectively, taking their income for the year to £689m and £634m.
