C&D Auction Marts Ltd sold 157 store heifers in Dumfries on Monday to a top of 247.5p per kg and an average of 207.4p (-1.1p on the fortnight), while 170 store bullocks peaked at 258.5p and levelled at 217.6p (+0.4p). Thirty-three store bulls sold to 215.2p and averaged 192p (-29.3p).
Harrison & Hetherington Ltd sold 68 store heifers in Lockerbie yesterday to a top of 258.3p and an average of 224.1p (+11.8p), while 137 store bullocks peaked at 269.5p and levelled at 231.5p (+15.5p). Six store bulls sold to 228.4p and averaged 207p.
Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 9 prime heifers at Ayr yesterday to a top of 236p and an average of 230.2p.
In the rough ring 22 beef cows averaged 124.9p and 108 dairy cows levelled at 108.4p. Nine clean OTM cattle averaged 160.6p.
A small show of 7 dairy cattle sold to £1400 (X2) for Holstein Friesian heifers and averaged £1174.29.
Wallets Marts sold 837 prime hoggs in Castle Douglas yesterday to a top of £104 per head and 237.4p per kg to average 168.6p (+6.9p on the week).)
There were also 110 cast sheep forward when ewes sold to £131 for a Texel and £63.50 for Blackfaces.
